What to Expect from the Clinical-Based Pledges

If you are a non-union, benefits-eligible employee, who just happens to be reading your emails from the Department of Total Rewards, you know by now there is a new design to the 2015 Wellness Pledge Program. In close collaboration with the Wellness Team, the Program was rethought to encourage employees to better engage in their health care routine, by proactively scheduling exams and screenings that are tracked through North Shore-LIJ's carriers, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna Dental and Davis Vision. You are recognized for your preventive care pledge compliance with $260 for each pledge, credited to your paycheck beginning January, 2015.

Choices
As mentioned in the previous post - you now have choices - in fact you have nine of them! Out of those nine pledges, seven need scheduling on your part. Take the time to review your options carefully, as they were designed to give you the opportunity to act proactively on your health and preventive care - long before enrolling in your 2015 benefit plans.

What to Expect at Your Visit or Screening
Some of you may have never scheduled a physician wellness visit before, or perhaps it's your first time to the dermatologist. Whatever your level of knowledge is - it's always good to know more. For more information about the seven clinically-based wellness pledges read more on HealthPort - HR - Benefits.

Very cool that we will have choices this year. I got a physical in January, went to the Ob/Gyn in Feb and went to the Dermatologist in April. Is the health assessment the only pledge I need to complete to get my pledges?

Welcome Blogger. You are correct in stating that with your 3 doctor visits complete in 2014, all you need to do now is complete your online Health Assessment to satisfy the 2015 Wellness Pledge Program. Keep in mind, the myuhc.com portal will only allow you to resubmit your HA 6 months after your last submission, so if you submitted late for last year's pledges (the extended deadline was January 31, 2014) then guess what? - Your 2015 Wellness Pledges are complete. Here's to a healthy summer!

6/5/14
Once again I am confused, the system is trying to get the wellness pledges done by Sept. 30th, but when we have open enrollment in Nov. we still have six months to complete the pleges? Is that correct? Hence, if I have my wellness exam in Dec. 2014 and put the info in the health assessment that will still qualify?

Hi. The health system has given the date of September 30 as a deadline to complete all pledges in exchange for paycheck credits in 2015. If you have your numbers/biometric readings from a previous annual exam please use those in your Health Assessment. You do not have an additional six months after Open Enrollment, your time to act is now through September 30.

I have already completed 2 of the pledge choices through Clinical visits with NSLIJ-IPA and Cigna providers earlier in 2014, and will be completing at least one more this month. The program indicates that these visits will automatically be recorded onto my "Wellness Summary Panel" in ESS and when open enrollment occurs I will be able to see which pledges were satisfied. But as open enrollment is usually not until November, and the deadline for completing pleadges in Sept. 30th, that will be too late to correct any errors or information/visits that were not recorded for whatever reason. How can I verify that my completed pledges have been recorded before the Sept 30th deadline? As I will have completed my pledges well before the Sept. 30th deadline I want to have the peace of mind and assurance that they have been recorded correctly well before Sept. 30th and not have to scramble at the last minute. Thanks for your help!

In response to the above post: Kudos to do on getting a head start to your health. The Wellness Summary will be a new feature on Employee Self Service looking similar to your Benefits Summary. Out IT experts are in the process of testing the functionality and it should be available for employee viewing in late July. Communications regarding this new feature on ESS will be shared at that time. Keep in mind - your exam and screening information will be fed into the summary on a monthly basis so may not appear the day after a visit. Thank you for your interest in this program.

I visited my dermatologist and dentist recently. Is there a form that needs to be completed and submitted? My Health Assessment on myuhc.com has been completed on 1/10/2014 (submitted late for last year's pledges).
